It's growing!

The framing is really taking off and I have a feeling I'll see a roof by the end of this week! So exciting to get a feel of all the rooms and where the doors and windows are. I have been imagining this house and these rooms for a long time now and it's so exciting to watch them materialize. These pics are a little dark, but you'll definitely see how much my castle is taking shape from the last post. And really this castle is starting to feel more like a tower. I may have to change its name to Glenview Tower instead :)

As I was driving up Glenview this afternoon I was met with what looked like the beginnings of a tower instead of a castle! One probably heard a muffled scream coming from my car as I hurriedly rounded the corner so I could hop out. It looks so tall and to think there's still one more floor to go. On the 2nd level you can see where my little kitchen and bathroom are along the back of the house. The whole front part that's yet to be walled in and covered is my living room and I believe there's still another 8 or so feet to go! Today's visit was the most exciting yet and I can only imagine what next week has in store - the 3rd floor, walls and a roof!

Lots of exciting progress this week! And I was happy to see my builder and the two guys who've been working so hard to get Glenview Castle ready for a poured foundation and the 2nd floor. I hope they don't mind, but I've snapped a few pics of them that I'll just have to add to this post.  There's been lots more digging as well to enure I have sewer. But most excitingly, the bottom floor has the beginnings of walls and a roof and I even see a hole for the stairs to rise up through. So much fun now to watch it take shape and I think next week we're going to see the frame of almost the whole house!!! It still blows my mind to see something that has been on paper and in my mind for so many years actually take shape on the very lot I had been imagining it on! Determination can be a very powerful trait :)

Although the progress looks minimal, I believe some significant steps have been made. All those loose boards are now gone and some piping has been installed for sewer and water. There will be more inspections of the foundation at the beginning of next week and once that's done and the town comes along and hooks me up to sewer and water, let the framing begin! I believe the frame will fly up pretty quickly and then I can post some much more exciting pictures. In the meantime, I will post what's been done to this very point for those who follow this blog. And thank you so much for your interest in my little castle.  As little as it may be, it's going to be rather tall. You just wait and see!
My mom and I decided to inspect the castle site today and here are some pics.
